Strengthening Health Outcomes for Women and Children in Haiti

According to the United Nations, approximately 303,000 women die every year due to complications of pregnancy and childbirth. That’s one woman every two minutes, with Haiti having the highest maternal mortality rate in the Americas. This led HPIC to partner with Plan International Canada to help change the birth story in Haiti.

Through the SHOW (Strengthening Health Outcomes for Women and Children) project, 72,000 treatments were distributed and impacted over 22,000 women and their children.

This was made possible through our wonderful pharmaceutical partners:
Apotex
AstraZeneca
Baxter
Bayer
Becton Dickinson
Medtronic
Fresenius Kabi
Henry Schein
GlaxoSmithKline
Johnson & Johnson
Paladin Labs
Pfizer
Pharmascience
Teligent
Teva
Vita Health
